AtkinsRéalis is celebrating its 25th anniversary in Ireland this year and is eyeing further growth across the transportation, buildings, energy and water sectors where it is playing a crucial role in shaping large-scale projects that support the state’s growing infrastructure demands.
A significant recruitment drive is also underway to attract the range of professionals needed to join the team to deliver the expected level of growth across Ireland, with plans to take the team from its current level of 370 to c1000 people over the next five years.
With offices in Dublin, Cork, Galway, and Dundalk under the leadership of managing director Martina Finn, AtkinsRéalis Ireland has developed extensive cross-sector expertise in key global markets and this year has won a number of major infrastructure projects, including; NDFA Project Liffey Schools bundle, DART+ MDC, Eirgrid and Irish Water’s Water Supply Project.
Martina, who joined the company more than 20-years-ago, said: “AtkinsRéalis is increasingly playing a central role in the delivery of transformative infrastructure and transportation projects in Ireland and we believe there are real opportunities to build on that over the next five years.
“Through our teams based across Ireland and our range of multi-disciplinary skills and services, we are well placed to deliver the sustainable infrastructure that this country needs.
“This means enabling social and economic opportunities for people through better connectivity in transport, the delivery of clean, resilient energy and water supplies, and the decarbonisation of our built environment to ensure a net zero future.
“The success of the last 25 years has provided a solid platform for this growth plan and it coincides with a hugely exciting time in our industry where our people can make a real difference in shaping the future of the country’s infrastructure, and tackle some of the biggest challenges we face in terms of a growing population and climate change.”
Mike McNicholas, managing director for AtkinsRéalis Infrastructure UK & Ireland, added: “Our ambition to respond to the most critical issues to enable us to build a better future for our planet and its people, remains at the heart of our plans going forward. In AtkinsRéalis Ireland there is a culture of excellence and innovation, driving initiatives that meet the evolving needs of clients and communities in order to respond to those issues.
“Our drive for growth in Ireland is very much in line with our growth agenda globally which has seen AtkinsRéalis increase its footprint in sectors such as water, transportation and energy around the world. So the plan for the next five years is not only realistic but essential if we are to continue to play a key role in delivering the sustainable infrastructure Ireland needs to benefit its cities, communities and the economy.”
