Council approves major Lisburn factory development

Lisburn and Castlereagh City Council's planning committee has approved plans for a new factory to be built in Knockmore Industrial Estate.

Two Black women and one Hispanic man, discussing plans over blueprints while standing near the factory site, surrounded by cranes and construction equipment, during a rainy afternoon.

Northern Ireland World reported that construction on the new factory is expected to be built immediately.

The application was brought forward by Knockmoreone Ltd.

The development will support the council area in providing jobs.

Lisburn North Councillor Jonathan Craig said: “It is not often you see industrial land being used for industrial purposes, when we normally see it being developed for housing.

“New industrial manufacturing coming into the area is to be welcomed."
