The deal strengthens DNV’s foothold in the region and expands DNV's comprehensive portfolio of environmental solutions reinforcing its commitment to addressing pressing sustainability challenges in society. Enviroguide has doubled in turnover over the last two years and DNV forecasts it will grow its environmental services further as Ireland is the fastest growing economy in the European Union.
Enviroguide has established a reputation for delivering exceptional environmental and sustainability consultancy services. This includes biodiversity, contaminated land, waste management & licensing, ESG, Infrastructure Planning and Environmental Impact Assessment services to support sustainable development for public and private sector customers.
As the energy transition enters into the implementation phase, the impact on the environment becomes more important. Enviroguide for example, supports customers through the planning and permitting process for infrastructure projects, hence DNV’s investment in these services.
“Safeguarding biodiversity has become essential for companies driving the energy transition. The acquisition of Enviroguide supports DNV’s ambition to expand its biodiversity and environmental services portfolio. Together, Enviroguide and DNV will be able to provide our customers with a comprehensive biodiversity, environmental, and waste management services portfolio that are critical to the success of all energy projects.” said Remi Eriksen, Group President and CEO of DNV.
Janet O’Shea, Operations Director at Enviroguide Consulting said “I am delighted that we are joining DNV and the move is a testament to the dedication and hard work of our team to date. I believe the synergy between our organisations will enable us to expand our environmental consultancy and ecology services as we continue to provide exceptional services to our customers. This partnership with DNV, with its global reach, will really give us the opportunity to expand our team and services in the future.”
Ditlev Engel, CEO, Energy Systems at DNV said “I am extremely pleased that Enviroguide and its team of experts will be joining us, and I welcome them to the DNV family. This move will allow us to combine our strengths and expand our service offering to customers in the UK, Ireland and further afield. This is an excellent addition to the already very strong team of environmental experts we have in Norway.
“Driven by our purpose and our customers’ demands, we recognize the crucial growth areas of environmental social governance, biodiversity and ecology and I believe this addition to our team will ensure that we can further increase DNV’s support to our customers in order for them to meet the future requirements for environmental co-existence that is essential for scaling renewables and the needed energy infrastructure with success going forward.”
“With new regulatory frameworks and legislation being introduced across the UK and EU later this year, this move enables DNV to better support and advise customers navigating increased regulations, specifically within biodiversity and waste management strategy and reporting. I am looking forward to working closely with our new Enviroguide colleagues to address these issues." said Hari Vamadevan, Executive Vice President, and Regional Director UK & Ireland of Energy Systems at DNV.
