Donegal-based civil engineering company Source Civil has announced that it will grow its workforce to over 270 in the next 12 months with the creation of 50 new jobs, RTE reported.

The announcement was made at the official opening of the company's new state-of-the-art offices in Donegal town, which is part of a €10m five year investment.

The new office space and warehousing facility at Lurganboy, just outside the town, is supporting the company's international expansion, out of which it will service customers in Germany, Holland, France and the UK.

"We are working extremely hard to transform Source Civil from an SME into an international brand," said Enda Healy, Managing Director of Source Civil.

"Building on our strong traditions and hard-earned reputation we are scaling up our business to secure a more sustainable future for all our staff," Mr Healy said.

The expansion was supported by Enterprise Ireland.

"Enterprise Ireland is committed to supporting companies like Source Civil to increase their level of innovation, improve their competitiveness and expand their global footprint, with the ultimate goal of delivering export growth and jobs in Ireland and we look forward to continuing to work with the company in the future," said Tom Kelly, Divisional Manager, Enterprise Ireland.

Minister of State for Trade Promotion, Digital and Company Regulation Dara Calleary welcomed the jobs announcement and officially opened the new Source Civil facility.

"Today's expansion announcement is a great boost for Donegal as well as the wider North-West region and paves the way for this innovative company to significantly scale its business globally," Mr Calleary said.
