The company intends to strengthen its position in Ireland by showcasing one of its latest multi-axis machines on its Stand (T1/T22) at the event.
Introducing the DVF 5000 (Second-Generation) 5-Axis Machining Centre
The new DN Solutions’ DVF 5000 (Second-Generation) 5-axis machining centre will be making its debut at the Show.
The machine will be showcased with the new Siemens’ Sinumerik One CNC control and its associated state-of-the-art Digital Twin technology.
Tony Dale, Mills CNC’s Group CEO, said: “New DVF 5000 (Second-Generation) 5-axis machines will take the market by storm, and make ‘one-hit’ machining a reality for many component manufacturers.”
The new DVF 5000 machines are faster, more accurate, and more flexible than previous DVF 5000 (Mark One) models. They are equipped with directly-coupled, oil-cooled spindles (15,000 – 20,000rpm), strategically-located thermal compensation sensors, and large 630mm diameter rotary-tilting tables.
Additional features include fast 42m/min rapids on the X/Y/Z-axes, generously-sized tool changers (up to 120 tools) with fast tool changeover times (1.3 seconds T-T-T), and roller-type LM guideways.
DVF 5000 (Mark One) models were launched by Mills CNC into the UK and Irish markets back in 2018 and quickly became the 5-axis machine tool of choice for many component manufacturers.
Sinumerik One CNC Control: Optimising Performance and Efficiency
Sinumerik One is Siemens’ latest CNC system designed for high-productivity machine tools like the new DN Solutions’ DVF 5000 (Second-Generation) 5-axis machining centres. (New DVF 5000 machines can also be supplied with the latest Fanuc or Heidenhain controls.)
Bringing together the real and virtual machining worlds, the control optimises PLC and CNC performance and sets new standards in machining speeds, process efficiencies, and flexibility.
The open-architecture Sinumerik One CNC control combines an advanced CNC, iHMI, PLC, closed-loop control, and communication tasks within a single PPU. Key features include:
- Advanced 3D simulation including collision protection
- 3000 block look-ahead capability for fast and smooth contouring
- Quick data transfer for increased productivity and efficiency
- User-friendly dialogue that widens the CNC’s universal appeal
- A 15” touchscreen with a scratch-resistant surface for easy and secure programming and operation
The control system also allows users to take advantage of Sinumerik One’s innovative Digital Twin technology. This enables them to access, via the ‘Run my Virtual Machine’ feature, the ability to virtually simulate and verify part programmes—optimising a programme's accuracy, speed, and safety before the program is used on the shop floor.
The Digital Twin feature also provides a digital training tool. Operators and programmers can be fully trained (in a virtual setting) on all aspects of the Sinumerik One control, including job setup, part programming, machining operations, and troubleshooting—without needing a physical machine tool.
Mills CNC Strengthens Its Presence in Ireland
Tony Dale, Mills CNC’s Group CEO, said: “Ireland is an important market for Mills CNC, and we are delighted to be showcasing advanced, ground-breaking technologies on our stand at this year’s Manufacturing Solutions – Ireland Show.
“Our new DVF 5000 (Second-Generation) simultaneous 5-axis machine will, I am sure, draw in the crowds, and the Sinumerik One Digital Twin technology, being presented by staff from our CNC Training Academy, will be equally well-received.”
