Saica's packaging factory to relocate to Newry

The Zaragoza-based company's UK subsidiary Saica Pack will relocate its current operations at Warrenpoint Harbour to Northern Ireland's Cambane Industries Estate.

Saica will use the Cambane Industries Estate to construct its corrugated fibreboard factory.

Newry, Mourne and Down District Councl’s (NMDDC) planning committee signed off on the recommendation for approval after no requests were made for speaking rights at Tuesday’s (July 10) meeting.

Saica Group employs approximately 10,000 people across its European operations, which manufactures recycled paper for corrugated board.

The group currently operate from five sites on the island of Ireland, including Lurgan and Enniskillen.
