Verus triumphs at the Sligo Business Awards 2019

Verus Metrology Partners has been recognised for its entrepreneurialism, innovation and diversity during the 7th annual Sligo Business Awards.

Held at the Radisson Blu Hotel in Sligo, the awards ceremony has firmly established itself as one of Ireland’s most respected business events.

Applauding industry thought-leadership, it acknowledges advanced developments, product innovations, sustainability and overall business accomplishments from start-up level through to multi-national blue-chip leaders.

Over 430 local business entrepreneurs were in attendance to greet many special guests including Cathaoirleach of Sligo County Council, Cllr Tom MacSharry and TDs Eamon Scanlon, Tony McLoughlin and Martin Kenny. Guest of honour was Terry Prone of the Communication Clinic.

Verus COO Michael Nugent received the award on behalf of Verus Metrology Partners for Best Technology Company of the Year at the 2019 ceremony. Recognising high-sales and employment growth throughout 2019 along with having a positive effect on the areas technology-industry, Verus were chosen for their significant patent, R&D and IP activity along with our contribution to industry activities such as standards setting, advocacy and education

Verus has recently advanced its current offering of Manual Metrology Fixtures, creating an innovative solution. As a result, they have incorporated an Auto-Rotational element into their bespoke fixtures, leading the way for the future of metrology.

Michael Nugent said: “One of our main priorities at Verus is to continue increasing the availability of future, long-term employment within the engineering sector so that we can remain capable of skilled labour back to the area.” He continues, “Our aim is to increase the number of job vacancies here at Verus across many sectors such as engineering, manufacturing, metrology and marketing. We also continue with our strive of bridging the gender gap that currently exists within many of these industries at present.”
