Discover How Mitsubishi Electric’s Advanced Circuit Solutions are Revolutionising Electrification in Industrial and Commercial Applications

Mitsubishi Electric has unveiled a new range of modular DIN rail components (MDRC) designed to address the growing demand for high-performance protection and control solutions. These circuit solutions are tailored for final circuit power distribution in both the Irish and broader EMEA markets. The new circuit solutions will meet the needs of stakeholders involved in the electrification of buildings, providing them with advanced technology that enhances performance and safety.

Meeting the Needs of OEMs and Infrastructure Stakeholders

Stakeholders in the electrification of industrial and commercial buildings, as well as OEMs manufacturing machinery for industrial automation, will now benefit from a cost-effective range of low voltage components. These components have high short-circuit breaking capacity and are designed for key applications. These circuit solutions are particularly beneficial for final circuit protection in industrial electrification projects, ensuring reliable power distribution across various sectors.

Mitsubishi Electric’s MDRC series includes both control and protective devices, making them ideal for clients in the infrastructure sectors. The new range includes modular contactors, Arc Fault Detection Devices (AFDDs), Miniature Circuit Breakers (MCBs), Residual Current Devices (RCDs), Surge Protection Devices (SPDs), and Residual Current Circuit Breakers (RCCBs) with overcurrent protection (RCBOs).

High-Performance, Compact, and Modular Circuit Solutions

Designed for a wide range of applications, the Mitsubishi Electric MDRC range is characterized by ultimate breaking capacities (Icu) that span from 15 kA to 25 kA. The standard range of MCBs is available in an 18mm module format with Icu of 15kA and rated from 0.5A up to 63A in standardized B, C, and D curves.

Mitsubishi Electric also offers components with higher Icu ranges, such as the MCB-T range from 0.5 to 40A (up to 25kA) in an 18mm module format and the HMCB range from 20 to 125A in a 27mm module format, with Icu ranging from 10 up to 25kA. The Icu of 15kA on their standard MCB and RCBO ranges ensures that the final circuit can manage the prospective short-circuit currents for the majority of commercial and industrial sub-distribution applications.

Cost-Effective Solutions for Industrial Electrification and Building Electrification Projects

The MDRC series fills a key gap in the local market and will provide considerable value to users, offering ambitious yet cost-effective circuit solutions for the control and protection of electrical installations. These circuit solutions also support building electrification projects, leveraging Mitsubishi Electric’s expertise in factory automation machinery. The MDRC range meets the needs of industries like marine, water and wastewater treatment, food and beverage, automotive, and other manufacturing sectors.

Comprehensive Support and Expertise in Circuit Solutions

Mitsubishi Electric’s latest MDRC range complements their existing series of air circuit breakers (ACBs) and moulded case circuit breakers (MCCBs). In addition to a complete technology portfolio, customers will benefit from comprehensive project support and consultancy services to streamline and optimise their installations.

“We are thrilled to launch the MDRC range into the Irish and EMEA markets,” says Tom Mac Partlin, Business Development & Product Management - Low Voltage Systems for the EMEA region at Mitsubishi Electric. “This product series offers a key, strategic investment for businesses embarking on an industrial electrification journey. As such, it reflects our continuous commitment to innovation, efficiency, and reliability.”

Conclusion: The Future of Circuit Solutions in Electrification

Mitsubishi Electric’s new modular circuit solutions represent a vital component in the electrification landscape. These solutions promise enhanced protection, performance, and cost-efficiency for a range of industries and applications. With their high specifications and robust support infrastructure, these MDRC components are poised to be a key investment for businesses looking to stay ahead in an increasingly electrified world. These circuit solutions will continue to provide long-term reliability and safety for industrial electrification projects.
