Stakeholders in the electrification of industrial and commercial buildings as well as OEMs manufacturing machinery for industrial automation will now be able to leverage a cost-effective range of low voltage components with high short circuit breaking capacity for key applications.
Mitsubishi Electric’s MDRC series includes both control and protective devices, making them ideal for clients in the infrastructure sectors. The new high-performance cost-effective range includes modular contactors, Arc Fault Detection Devices (AFDDs), Miniature Circuit Breakers (MCBs), Residual Current Devices (RCDs), Surge Protection Devices (SPDs), and Residual Current Circuit Breakers (RCCBs) with overcurrent protection (RCBOs).
Compact, modular solutions
Designed to deliver high specifications and performance for a wide range of applications, the Mitsubishi Electric MDRC range is characterised by ultimate breaking capacities (Icu) that span from 15 kA to 25 kA. The standard range of MCB are available in an 18mm module format with Icu of 15kA and rated from 0,5A up to 63A in standardized B, C and D curves.
Mitsubishi Electric have also components with higher Icu ranges in the MCB-T range from 0,5 to 40A up to 25kA in an 18mm module format and the HMCB range from 20 to 125A in a 27mm module format with Icu from 10 up to 25kA. The Icu of 15kA on their standard MCB and RCBO ranges ensures the ability of the final circuit to manage the prospective short circuit currents for the majority of commercial and industrial sub-distribution applications.
Matt Pender, Managing Director at MPAC Ltd., comments: “The MDRC range fills a key gap in the local market and will deliver considerable value to users. We look forward to offering ambitious yet cost-effective solutions for the control and protection of electrical installations as well as strengthening our partnership with Mitsubishi Electric.”
The MDRCs are ideal to support building electrification projects. In addition, the solutions leverage Mitsubishi Electric’s expertise in factory automation machinery to address the needs of marine, water and wastewater treatment, food and beverage and automotive, as well as other manufacturing industries.
Robbie Garland, Managing Director at Garland Instruments, explains: “At Garland, we use Mitsubishi Electric’s Circuit Breakers to create highly effective industrial automation solutions for companies in food and beverage, water treatment, refrigeration, manufacturing and pharmaceutical production. Thanks to this addition to the existing range, we will now be able to help create state-of-the-art electrical applications for a larger customer base.”
Comprehensive support
The latest addition to the LVS range complements the company’s existing series of air circuit breakers (ACBs) and moulded case circuit breakers (MCCBs). Besides a complete technology portfolio, customers can benefit from comprehensive project support and consultancy services to streamline and optimise their installations.
Tom Mac Partlin, Business Development & Product Management - Low Voltage Systems for the EMEA region at Mitsubishi Electric, concludes: “We are thrilled to launch the MDRC range into the Irish and EMEA markets. The product series offers a key, strategic investment for businesses embarking on an electrification journey. As such, it attests to our continuous commitment to innovation, efficiency and reliability.”
